I totally agree that this action (not supporting the ios 6 for the original iPad) is aimming to force us to buy a new iPad. But Apple is forgetting that we are those that bought from the start the original iPad and contributed to the big success. It is forgotten that iPad is not an iPhone but a post PC. OK Apple you have a "funboy" less, meaning that I will not insist and try to persuade others who ask me to buy an Apple product any more.

I, like everyone else would like iOS 6 on my iPad. However, given the performance of iOS 5 on it, I really wouldn't be holding my breath for better performance on iOS 6. The iPad is a relatively underpowered device in comparison to the 3GS. It's got more than quadruple the pixels to power, while using the same graphics card and 256 mb of ram as the 3GS. The lack of ram in the iPad is a bottleneck to it having the update in my opinion. I believe Apple is still exemplary in providing updates for the iPad, because it was for nearly 2 years. Many people here are flaming on how Apple is becoming like Android. Thats ridiculous, because I haven't seen any Android device being decently updated for more than a single year.

Just enjoy your iPad with whatever OS it's got on it. iOS 5 is great, and even those on iOS 4 are functionally usable as well. Just because Apple doesn't provide updates doesn't mean you have to throw your device away. I've still got an original iPhone running OS 3, and it is still a beautifuld device that does its job.

Apple says every device that they come out with has 2 years of updates. They only had 1 update for it. Apple Does not, Will not care about the money people spend. Im a 19 yo kid. I spent $1100 on my ipad1 and they have a 2 week(14day) return/exchange policy, 15 days after I got my ipad they came out with the ipad2 and they told me if i want an ipad with a camera that I would have to spend few hundred MORE dollers to get it. I said its one day over come on I didnt spend $1100 on nothing the manager of the store said these exact words "its one day over the 2week return/exchange policy" I said its one day im a kid I work hard for my money and she said "get out of my store now, your not exchanging it because its over the return policy." That is bull crap Apple doesnt care about how they over charge for their product and you only get support for a year maybe 2. Apple needs to be like everyother company accross this world and make their updates work for their devices for the last few years. I have a windows 98 computer runing vista and they make updates that allow it to run. Why cant apple make the update available for the ipad 1? I will never ever own another apple product, it isnt worth the money you spend

why 'stop the drama' ... it's not about dramatization, but about principles...

iPad is NOT mobile phone which time to live is about 2-3 years, it's something BETWEEN mobile & computer.
if WE - users allow them to drop support without the reason, soon you won't see new OSX release for 'old' (not anymore on sale) computers...

I don't ask for support oryginal iPhone ... but iPad is another beast... it should be treated more like computer, not mobile device. or m'I wrong ?
