Contact details for a complaint - rude staff!

Hi all!

First of all, I love apple products. I used to stay away from them (mainly because I couldn't afford them), but since my first iPhone, I've been a true convert. I've recently bought the new iPad and am now interested in obtaining the Macbook Pro Retina.

I've encountered rude staff on a few occasions in the past in the Apple retail stores but I always assumed they were an anomaly. However I'm now noticing they're becoming a more common occurrence.

I went along to one of the Apple Stores today (Bluewater, UK) to enquire whether they had any Macbook Pro Retina's in stock. The sales assistant had an incredibly rude and egotistical attitude. To my first question of whether they had any in stock, he replied with a stern "No". To my next question of when they would be in stock, he just replied with "It's first come first served". There was no eagerness to help and he was incredibly unwelcoming. It seemed like simply my presence was a nuisance to him. Perhaps the staff do not realise we are the customers, let alone I'd be spending a lot of money there!

I then telephoned the Regent Street retail store to enquire whether they would have any in stock, and the telephone conversation went along these lines:

Sales assistant: "Hi, apple store" (In a voice akin to that of someone who's about to end their own life)

Me: "Hi there, I'd just like to ask whether you'd have any Macbook Pro Retinas in stock tomorrow? I'm..."

Sales assistant: "No".

Me: "Uh, do you know when you'll have any in stock by any chance?"
Sales assistant: "No".

She then hung up on me!

As much as I love Apple products, I'm trying so hard to justify spending my hard-earned money on a new Macbook Pro when the staff are so rude - it doesn't really instill the greatest confidence in me if I should find myself in a situation when I have to use Apple's after-sales support.

So! My question is this - I've searched for what seems like hours and I can't find any contact details to send a complaint. Perhaps Apple are taking the attitude of their egotistical staff and are not expecting any complaints?

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I had exactly the same response when i called the regent street store today as well. i ended up calling white city, stratford, regent street and covent garden. none of the staff could tell me when the stock was arriving and seems annoyed at me even asking. covent garden did offer to call me when they are in stock but this seemed like a scripted answer.

I don't know what kind of places you guys are living in, but my local Apple Store in California has the most ridiculously (but genuinely) cheery and helpful employees I've ever seen. I called asking if they had these laptops yet, but the woman kindly said "I"m sorry, we don't know when we are getting the shipment but it should be soon. Can I help you with anything else?" although admittedly I did call just a few minutes after WWDC had finished, so maybe they've gotten a bit cranky since then, but I doubt it. If you are having troubles you should definitely complain.

on a sidenote: Why do they have to be so expensive! I'm pulling every string I've got to get one of these.
