Password Protect CD s or DVDs

I think the way you could do that is by creating an encrypted disk image. Check Disk Utility Help for information on how to do that.

Personally I use a very quick and convenient feature in Disk Utility:
Disk Image Encryption.

It doesn't prevent running the CD or DVD, but there is no way to open any of the files in it without entering a password.

1) Put all your secret files in a folder
2) in Disk Utility, go to menu File > New > Disk Image from Folder...
3) Create an encrypted image of your folder
4) Put the encrypted image on the CD/DVD.
It's this CD/DVD that you now burn, so that its contents will be available only to the password owner.

However, I have found that you can make a copy of the password protected CD/DVD without the need for a password.

Of course! The password only prevents you from reading the information in the disk image. It does not prevent you from copying the disk image.
