Is there a smart dialer or T9 dialer for iPhone?
I am tired of scolling through all my phone numbers just to find someone. Will apple support android's already stock smart dialer and T9 dialer? Is there an app for that?

I think you never used "Iphone" .. or Do you know that 10 years old or even older dialer was not that useful than now scroll to every name to find the contact from 6000 contacts? I own both android and iphone. I simply open dialer, start typing name and I get the contacts, while in Iphone 9.3.2 , the top visible contact is "A Sajjad", and when I just type the Same on search bar on the top I can't search my the top visible contact. what do you call this.. a bug, if bug why apple is unable to remove this bug for 4 years (since I own iphone).
And another 8+ years old feature in android those were old and now what Apple brought 4 years back became advance?... Be Optimistic BRO.
Thanks
Hey, BRO, I use less steps than that. Just swipe down from any of the home screens and start typing a person's name, e-mail, phone number, whatever, then tap on the phone icon of the person's multiple numbers I want to call. I, optimistically, think you never used "Iphone" before and just here to troll a 4 year old thread, bro.
If your "Iphone" doesn't do what you need, why did you buy it? Feel free to buy what fits your needs. No one here is going to stop you, or even argue with your choice.
In over 30 years of using cell phones I have never heard of a "Call connect vibration". Why would you want your phone vibrating against your ear while it's also ringing in your ear?
You know .. I do the same, I also swipe down and find the name I need to call to... But would you mind if I say .. "may be I've been using IPhone since it was more or less brought into market in my country may be 2006", I switched to others and restarting using Iphone in 2012.
Now again I would greatly say... why Apple is unable to fix the bugs, why they created a "big full width" search bar in contacts to search nothing!!!. Do you know that. Try yours if that works do let me know 🙂 And better they just remove the "contacts" app and only keep the "search bar" appears in "swiping down". 🙂
This was not Iphone that brought notification bar! it was even older Window Phone Mobile. (I owned Qtek 1010) And that was useful which was brought into other phones like Android and later in Iphone.
It was Nokia and samsung who brought torch light and later that came into smart phones and IPhone,
i think when widgets were brought in android, thought those were already in some native OS's in nokia and samsung but became famous in android, Iphone never liked that and eventually iphone brought that into their "swipe down" thing.. .isn't it..
I don't say Apple is the "finest" thing in the world but I would say Apple is not the only finest thing in the world, If someone else has produced something better and more user friendly and usable than other should adopt that.. I assure you, one day apple will too bring this smart t9 dialer kind of thing into their native dialer.

I don't understand what any of that means. I have no problems searching my contacts using the search box. Perhaps if you posted some screen shots, someone could give you some direction on how to resolve your issue.

If you would read the rest of discussion between me and Re: Is there a smart dialer or T9 dialer for iPhone? , you will understand!.
And Yes, I've already posted those screen shots in another discussion, but I couldn't get any answer. this is the link to that post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7396093
Assuming that, because your phone doesn't work correctly, there is a "bug" in iOS is false logic. There is obviously something amiss with your phone. What trouble shooting steps have you taken? Have you deleted what ever account your using to sync your contacts and added it back? Have you restored your phone from a back up? Restored it as new?
yes, I restored it many times from offline backup (Itunes) it didn't work, I backedup to the iCloud, and reset my phone and then restored it from iCloud. I updated to the all new versions till the latest 9.3.2, restored it every time. It didn't work.
And that made me to download and install some 3rd party apps those work greatly as smart dialer or like T9 dialer way.
Now i'm more use to with the spot light search, but every time during the dialer, I need to go back to home screen and search the number.
Btw.. I can't retype every name and number and/or email to create a new phone book.
The next step would be to restore the phone as new, not from back up, then add you iCloud account to sync your contacts.
Alright...OK I will proceed in your way, then I will replay .
Thanks,
May be i didn't do only this step.
Do not load any third party apps back onto the phone until you have tested the feature.
Yes I've that in my mind.
You know why I needed 3rd Party phone apps, There were many contacts duplicate rather triplicate and some of them were about 5 times. I synced them from Google Contacts, Facebook, LinkedIn and may be a few more. There was no way to remove duplicates and the only way I found was some 3rd party apps.
how would i fix that then?
Let's deal with one issue at a time. Restore your phone as new. Don't add any third party apps, whether they're contact management apps or games or anything. Sync your contacts, preferably from only one source. Test. If it works, add a second source, test.
You didn't mention that you were syncing contacts from that many sources. I don't know if that's going to prove to be part of the problem. However, whatever third party apps you're using to try to sort that out may be. Try using the linked contacts feature on the phone.
Okay... that's healthy way.
thanks. I will proceed this tonight. I've backed up on itunes.
thanks
But, remember, you're going to restore as new, NOT from your back up, at least at first. You're testing to see how the phone works without anything added to it.
