iPhoto 9.3 problem when launching

Hello,

I have upgraded iPhoto yesterday. Since the 9.3 version is installed, I have trouble when I launch the app. In fact, each time, I have an alert which tells me that iPhoto couldn't find a pic.

I have tried to start the app with alt+cmd and tried all the maintenance options, but no changes.

Does anyone else have the same problem ? Is there a solution ?

Here is a pic of the problem I got (it's in French).

Hi. I'm from Argentina. I have the same problem as descriptes. Mi iPhoto is stuck on step 5 of 9, 99,9%.

My problem is that Apple has no official support in Argentina, then I don't know how to solve it. When I try to install 9.2.3, mi Macbook Pro tells me I'm using a newer version of the app, and don't let me downgrade. Should I uninstall the whole app? That will not erase my photo library, right?

Then, I download and reinstall 9.2.3? Is that simple?

Please help me, I work with my photos and I'm really frustrated right now.

Thanks,

Julian

Hi, What I did was do 1) a "spotlight" search for the key word "iphoto", 2) erased the iPhoto application and iPhoto .dmg and .plugin files. 3) I then reloaded iPhoto from my iLife '11 DVD, and 4) I had to go to

http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&src=support_site.psp.more&locale=e n_US&q=iPhoto and download and install the 9.1 and 9.2.3 iPhoto updates. Specifically, the 9.1 update is at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1322 and the 9.2.3 update is at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1514.

I hope this helps.

PANIC!!

I called the app tech dept and used joachims case no. as a reference. no matter how many times i referred to his case, the different people on the phone didnt seem paying attention, and kept doing their normal trouble shooting, and pretending this could only be a stand alone problem with my hard drive - and not the case of a faulty new update from apple.

first we tried pressing the command+option key while launching iphoto, and then choose repair - but the update got stuck again on step 5, 99%..

then he had me go in to the iphoto library and remove the master file to the desktop before relaunching iphoto. now i got a completely clean new iphoto 9.3, and then dragged the master file folder into iphoto again to import the complete library again.

2 hrs later, after importing approx 22.500 photos I now have all my photos back, but all my endless weeks of creating folders, tagging names, places, creating meta data, and doing beautiful photobooks, ALL of this is now lost...

Hopefully I can re-create all my work from my time machine back-up. I think so, but I'm crossing my fingers.. Otherwise I will call the the App Tech Dept later today.

But how on earth can Apple create this problem and then now informing their helpdesk supporters?! I had to repeat at least 10 times that this wasn't just my computer behaving this way - this was a bug coming from Apple's new update...but they didn't seem to listen.

Good Luck!

Finally

I bought external drive to make a copy of my images

I found my old backup of MAC OS X before upgrade to Lion.

All folers are existing so now I can imoprt only images from last two months and rearrange them into folders.

I will stay with version 9.2.3 and wait at least 1 month before I will install any new update from Apple.
