These Apple clowns took something magical and completely destroyed it with all their "helpful" ideas. The OS is a friggin disaster. There was a time when a good Steve keynote would bring a tear to my eye, now with every iteration it is gradually becoming worse than windows ever was. And believe me... with a total of 8 Mac's, AppleTV, iPhone, iPad, MacMini, iMac, Macbook Pro, MacPro... it pains me to say that. I spend more time searching google for tips on how to find/use my mac now then ever before. Junk.

Isn't this adding more steps to a simple process??? How many people have had to search the forum to find this information? Why remove the "save As" option? I don't think that very many people accidentally saved their file with a wrong name! Absurd! It's as bad as the stupid Windows Office Ribbon - sorting functions into what THEY think make organizational sense. That was a nightmare. And now, Apple trying to prevent me from misnaming a file? Really. Give us a bit more credit than that. I am still working with Keynote 5, since my work Mac (not mine) hasn't updated the OS yet, and Keynote 6 won't run on it. I can't use Keynote 6 at home or on my MBA since when I get to work, I can't open anything. (Unless I use the Menu>File ALT process which I wasn't aware of!). So, for now it's Right click and Open With... It would be easier if I opened a Keynote 5 presentation in Keynote 6, and went to save it, that it would save as a Keynote 5 file. I have also tried (unsuccessfully) to have Keynote 5 as my default Keynote app to avoid the right click open with process when I am working on a lecture, but that doesn't seem to work. Comments to Apple developers seem to go unheard. So don't suggest that.

Apple trying to prevent me from misnaming a file?

Apparently the thinking is to make Keynote more compatible with Keynote for iOS; by closing the file it will be automatically be saved as a version, with all previous versions of the file available using File > Revert To:

It would be easier if I opened a Keynote 5 presentation in Keynote 6, and went to save it, that it would save as a Keynote 5 file.

File > Export > Keynote 09

I have also tried (unsuccessfully) to have Keynote 5 as my default Keynote app to avoid the right click open with process when I am working on a lecture, but that doesn't seem to work.

Keynote 5.3 will open 5.3 files but will not open version 6 series files as they are incompatible filetypes.
