Can an Airport Extreme be used as a wired gigabit switch?

I want to set up a Mac as a file server, but I'm out of ethernet ports on my Airport extreme. I have a second identical Airport Extreme; can I turn off the wireless function of the second Extreme and use it simply as a wired gigabit ethernet switch?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

In addition to turning off the wireless function, don't forget to configure the AirPort in Bridge Mode. Then it will function as a Gigabit Ethernet switch.

All of the ports become LAN ports when the AirPort is configured in Bridge Mode, so you can connect to any port that you want.
