Hey guys, yesterday I bought the new Macbook Pro 2012 13 inch. In the first half hour of use it froze 5 times! I had to turn it of from the power button. I only have Google Chrome, Skype and the Diablo 3 launcher (could never play because of freezes that don't let download finish.
Please help me, first mac I buy and apple recieves me this way, full of problems 😟

Sure you can get the new Moutain Lion version of OS X for free from Apple as the owner of the newest Mac computers. Get that version and install it and post back how it works.

I tried mountain lion as a last resort, had the exact same issues. I even tried formating and restoring everything. It seems to be a problem with the gpu of some of the newest mid 2012 macbooks. I also dont see any kernel panic messages of some sort in the logs at the point of freezing.
In my case Chrome made my mid 2012 MBP 13" freeze, but then a Chrome update fixed this problem. iMovie made my MBP crash, so I decided not to use iMovie until an update appeared. Now here´s my BIG problem, today I was installing Mountain Lion and when 10min remained it froze. I had to hold the power button and power off the Mac because not even the trackpad was responding. When I powered on the installer opened and I tried to install it again (no more Lion, as soon as I power the mac I get the ML installer); so as I had this problem I decided to take it to the Apple store to have it checked, in 48hs they will phone me.
Let me know what Apple find. Didn't realize so many people having this problem. So much spent on a laptop that Freeze, what a disgrace.
I live in Argentina, macs are quite expensive over here. This is my first mac and came full of problems, I didn´t expect this from such an expensive laptop.

Airplai we in the same boat. In Jamaica as well with the same computer, same problem.. There are two Apple certified stores in Kingston that are responsible for repairing Apple products. They directed me to them, but I refuse to take it to them, I don't see the sense of taking a brand new computer for repair. I requested a replacement and then send back the first one. Will be receiving the new one wednesday through MailPac. I've been reading around and was wondering if the x-ray scanning through the airports could interfere with the operation of the system, most of who are experiencing the problem seems to be outside of the United States.
I just install Mountain Lion a few hours ago and so far no freeze. Will continue working on different apps this week and see if it will freeze/crash.
Well I have my MBP back, they did a fresh install of ML. I don't have my iLife software but I'll download it later. They only problem I'm having is that I can't add my Gmail account to mail app. The rest is fine, it runs quite well.
I did a fresh install of ML this morning did work all day. In the night while at home it froze. Then while time machine shortly after it froze again.
This Macbook pro is driving me crazy. I think I have had it now. Froze again this morning after just checking my calendar. This can't work have to get rid of this thing.
There is definitely something wrong with your machine. Go to the G bar and let them check.
Couldnt deal with theses freezing issues anymore I had to get some work done. I quickly install Windows 7 on a Bootcamp partition and everything works flawless. This really suck because it was built for OSX. Anyway was able finish my project and on to the next.
I disagree there is anything wrong with his machine. I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro with the same sort of issue ever since I installed Mountaion Lion. I have been to the G bar twice, in both cases everything checked out to be just fine hardware wise.
There are numerous other threads about this all over the Internet at the moment. Some serious issues with 10.8 and the Nvidia drivers, again. This was a problem for my model in Lion as well shortly after the 10.7.2 update.
I'm also having this issue with my new Non-Retina MacBookPro 13 Inch i3, with latest update 10.7.4.
Also can't use USB3 or USB2 devices.

FIXED!
Ok so I have a NEW NON-Retina MAcbookPro 13 inch.
My mac froze and I had no USB support, so I downloaded and installed this:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1542
and now it is all working 100% so far. My USB 3 Drive and my USB Mouse is working, and no more freezing!
