I'm having the same problem and I read an article today that says it's a problem with Chrome. It only froze on me when using Chrome. Article only mentions Macbook Air but it seems to be the Pro also. http://osxdaily.com/2012/06/27/new-macbook-air-freezing-try-different-web-browse r/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+osxdaily+%28OS+ X+Daily%29

I'm not having problems with Chrome any more, last freeze using Chrome was like 5-6 days ago. My MBP freezes while using Diablo 3. Last week I recieved a call from Apple, the guy asked me to do a key combination that made a tmp folder appear. He asked me to mail him that folder because the engineers were asking him to gather this files from many users. I'll try deleting Diablo and re-download it, if that doesn't fix the problem I will confirm my theory that de Intel HD 4000 is the problem.

I'm still getting random freezes using pro tools 9. I'm using 2 plugins at most. Also, when I'm editing tracks on pro tools, dragging and using the "warp" tool, the screen sometimes turns blue, green or white. It happens when I'm dragging something to the side. The color screen goes away if I click anywhere. =\ Im definitively asking for a new machine. I still have 20 days since i bought it i think. meh....

Well, I went to the store on monday to return it. They ran some hardware tests and everything came out ok. I still asked for a new machine and though they said it was fine they didn't have any more Macbooks in the store at the moment. They told me I could keep the one the got for the 30 day period and come back and return it until the new shipment gets there. I think I'm good.

Same prob. Mine works after the 2 softwareupdates better but still freezes and sometime a force quit. Is it convermed by Apple the problem is the intel HD 4000? Even with only safari, finder and excel open force quit is unfortunitally the solution. When the keybord is not respomdimg and also the mouse not you can't do something else :(

And if more people have the same problems and it's a hardware problem, then is the question if it's good to get a new one... I think waiting for mountain lion.

Mid 2012 macbook pros are a total dissapointment. I currently have a second replacement of mbp13.3 i7 and it has this problem with the gpu. My first one had a problem with the hdd making incredibly loud high frequency noices. I did the mistake to update to mountain lion fast before applying the patches and now I cant even install those. I get freezes constantly, especially whenever i use flash independently of the browser. I will probably return this and get my money back this time. 😟

I am having a similar issue, my Macbook Pro 15 2012 freezes on occation while doing just about any task. From heavy intensive work with Pro Tools recording and editing to iChating with friends. Very random. I am in Jamaica and there are any Apple stores here so I would have to ship the machine back to the U.S. So I am hoping this is a Lion bug of some sorts that can be fixed with an update.
