Is it possible to get MAC address if i know serial number of stolen MacBookPro?

Hello,

I'm looking for my MacBookPro MAC address, It was stolen a week ago. I don't have a box unfortunattely. The only information i have is a serial number.

Is there any possibility to detect computers mac address?

I tryed to check my old e-mails to detect IP addreses i used, but as i understand it's impossible to get mac adress even if you know IP.

I didn't use find my mac or team viewer kind of programs 😟

Any help will be apritiated!

Hi Elene,

I was wondering if you found a way to find out what the wireless mac address is for your laptop when it is stolen and you didn't write it down?

I hope you found your laptop, my macbook pro recently got stolen and I didn't bother to write down the mac address either, so I am at the same spot you were in back in June. Anyhow, the information people gave you here is wrong. If you found out what the mac address is you can contact my brother at sifurodriguez@gmail.com, he is an RF engineer and can show you how a method to find your laptop but you need the mac address for the wireless card. Anyhow, please let me know if you did find a way to find out what the mac adress is.

Thanks you.

Sorry about your loss.

Did you have iCloud's "Find My Mac" turned on? If so you can goto icloud.com and log in via your Apple ID and track your Mac laptop if the drive hasn't been wiped yet. On your next Mac make sure you turn this feature on as well as setting an admin password for locking the drive (so they can't wipe drive without password).

Do you have access to any ot the routers that you've used your laptop on? You can look at the log files and pull the mac address of the logs if you can remember roughly what day & time you accessed (easier on smaller newtorks). The router does not pass the Mac Address onto the ISP so unless this person uses your stolen computer on the same network (home, business or college) you probably aren't going to catch it.

@sinoue

Hi Sinoue,

I do know the exact dates and times I logged into my router and routers at family member's home. I tried to look at the dhcp table for a list of clients but the routers had refresh by the time I looked. Are there any other logs that are kept permanantly? I mean that keep the mac addresses premanantly of every client that connect to the router? I use a NBG router. If this can be done this would definitely help me find the mac address.

Thank you.
