why does my new MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2012 freezes?

+1 here. my macbook freez while browsing using google chrome.

You're right, it should not freeze on you. ever.

Though, if you run an unstable piece of software (insert whatever name here), you may want to first uninstall this and see if that is the cause of the freezes.

If it is, then you can then contact the author of the offending software.

If it still freeze with NO 3rd party vendors installed, then, yeah bring it back, or exchange it for another one, it should not freeze on you.

I'm using Google Chrome right now to read this, and I have never had it freeze up on me. As a matter of fact, it's running really well right now and I bet it never zdjawd%^$$$............ (clunk)

I'm having some freezing problems too. I bought mine on 8 days ago, also an Macbook Pro 13" i7 mid 2012.

When I play Minecraft it freezes every minute for 10 to 20 seconds.

Also when I'm doing some Photoshop CS it freezes on me too somethimes.

Called the support, they told me that 3rd party software is the problem.

Strange isn't it? It works great on my 2010 iMac i7 and on my old Macbook with a 256mb card.

I'm aslo having the freezing problem too. I was sooo freak out.

I am new to mac, and I am totally disapointed to apple's product right now.

I bought my 13" mbp two days ago, and I went to exchange it today due to the freezing problem.

Guess what? This one also freeze frequenly. I spent 1500 on it because I trust apple. But how come they did a bad quality control on their product?

Jacky, keep exchanging them until you get a good one.

It may be a bad batch or something and if you are doing something wrong the geniuses at the store should tell you so the freezes won't occur.

It should not freeze or badly stutter on you.

Exchange it until you get one that is solid.

Is there anything in particular that you're doing when your MBP freezes? As you've probably seen here, and in other discussions, there seems to be a problem with Google's Chrome... are you using it?

I am playing Diablo 3 and sufing the net by using google chrome only. As an international student, I have limited funds from my parents. I really want to get a laptop and use it for three to four years. I tried to seek for help by phone, and I also went to the apple genius bar. They told me that computer frozen problem is normal even pc have this kind of problems. Many apple workers told me that they are playing diablo on their new mbp, mba etc...

They all pusuaded me that my mbp should have no problem with Diablo 3. I am going to leave this country at the end of the month. If this problem continue, I might refund it. I am not going to say all apple's product are *****. But I think they should do better qualtiy control on their new product.

I exchanged my 13 in and this one no freezing issues. The HD seems to peform better. The prior machine I had have a seek issue on the HD with the pinwheel accessing and no response. My thought was hard drive issues more than a software. That was my experience. I don't have Chrome or Diablo on my system.

Return it would be my suggestion as well.

mine had freezing issues, with google chrome

and a huawei USB modem

Went to apple store they said it's probably the HDD, they can swap it there and then but no point opening a 2 day old laptop when I have 14 days to get a brand new replacement. It was only 2 days old.

So I went and got a new replacement right away and it's doing the same thing!

stopped using/uninstalled both programs and hardware and it's been fine for a couple of days.

I do miss google chrome though, but using mozilla firefox for the time being.

Goggle Chrome acknowledged finally that the freezing is due to using Chrome. Don't use Chrome. Article.

That still won't convince some people around here that it's not an Apple problem...

I'm curious. Why are you avoiding Safari? It uses the same engine as Chrome. I run Chrome and Firefox on a regular basis to debug web sites. I don't see any compelling feature that makes either Chrome or Firefox better than Safari.
