I have the same problem - iTunes Store is busy message. Removing those files did not work for me.

Have you found a solution? I've been trying for a week to no avail. All other iTunes store access is not an issue.

I've contacted Apple but their advice has not worked. (Clear iTunes cache).

I'm wonderig if they have discontinued Itunes Plus song upgrades because they want users to buy iTunes Match.

Phoenix821 - So first, try using the solution I offer in a previous reply and see if it works. And it'd be great if Erin could mark it as "solved your question", because then it may end up higher in Apple's search results for others to find and hopefully help them too.

Like I mentioned in the previous post, that solution has helped with almost all iTunes related issues, but not all. And sometimes, I've even had to repeat the solution, because iTunes will immediately re-create these files once you open it. And of course, lastly, try the solution and then reboot your machine - the most tried and true way of fixing a host of computer issues.

I hope it fixes the iTunes store issue, which it should. I'm pretty sure that was the problem I had the last time, which prompted me to find and post a reply to Erin's issue.

Having the same issue.

Couldn't download one of the 12 days of Christmas freebies (error 5002), so signed out to sign back in again, but now that too gives 5002 error.

Tried resetting payment info. Apple also suggest deleting payment info but you can't do that.

Tried deleting the files that M1 Studio suggests - same error.

Permissions on the iTunes folder are correct.

*Sigh* I am having the same 5002 error problem. I tried M1's suggestion solution, that didn't work. Perhaps it's because I'm using iTunes 11. I don't have iTunes Plus. Everything has been fine with iTunes for years, and not this crap happens.

From what I read on the forums Apple doesn't really care about resolving this issue.

It's solution to not being able to sign-in involves signing-in. Seriously?

Screw you Apple. You took my money, that's all you really want.

Tried deleting the files, it didn't work. Tried signing out, and now it won't let me sign back in. Seriously, all I want to do is buy more music. This error is making it so I'm not buying it through Apple... it's an annoyance to me, and a loss of money to them... you think they'd fix it so they wouldn't keep losing money. (Then again, I doubt they're really worried about it.)

But really... this is irritating and ridiculous.

I just got an email that there was some activity on this thread, so I wanted to let all of you know what happened with my issue.

I opened a ticket with Apple and got the canned response, as indicated earlier in this thread. A few days later, someone contacted me again and asked me to log in and see if the problem was fixed.

Yes, it was fixed. No more issues. I do not know what they did to fix it, but apparently, it was something only they can fix on their end, because I tried everyone's advice and it just didn't work for me.

MY ADVICE - open a ticket with Apple and tell them you're getting the dread 5002 error.

Good luck!
