I have a Dell which has an Atheros 1703 bluetooth card. Using Dell's drivers from their website that came with the PC I cannot connect my iPhone 5s BUT if i go to Atheros website and download their latest drivers every thing works. Dell hasn't updated their drivers but the latest suite has a lot of features

I usually get the latest audio drivers from realtek, ect directly from the vendor's website

YES! Thank you! EZ PZ. Connected my iPhone 6s to my Windows 7 Bluetooth laptopwhich is HDMI'd to my big screen surround sound. PuuuuuurFect! :-D First, my laptop found my iPhone using 'add a device' on my laptop. Then, my laptop sent the same code to my iPhone to verify and allow the connection that was on my laptop. I tapped the accept button on my iPhone and started playing music. A nice mini player pops up at the beginning of songs for a few seconds.

Thanks Gridiron Duck!!

Interesting thread for sure. I shadowed it and finally tried Briguy and Gridiron Duck's ideas and they do work. Thing is, technology is moving at lightspeed, probably a little too fast so it is just assumed that everything works every way. Even I make assumptions that I know better to do because I develop interface logic for business software to communicate.

Remember, where there is a will there is a way. Don't get flustered, if it doesn't work make it work. When it comes to computing, nothing is impossible so thank you all for slugging it out and solving this problem for me.

Great forum.
