The orginal store I bought it from is super busy and runs out of the limited MacBook Pro Retina's so I found a different Apple Store and they swapped it out (I have one on order with 16gb but I may just cancel that now). This one I got is much better, it feels a little brighter too (but that could be just me). The left corner is just about equal with the right, I agree with some and think it's just the process how they make these panels. I'm just glad it's pretty much gone now, if not 100%.
It looks like it dims slightly toward the botton horizon evenly but I can't see it with the naked eye (I think it's due to using an iPhone camera and the angle), it's just like any MacBook Pro anti-glare screen where the whites slightly shift when moving the vertical viewing angle, but the whites on the Retina shift seems more from the material of the top layer than the display itself (I just snapped a super fast photo to show the new one doens't have that crazy yellow gradient) I'm glad I took it back, I was pretty bummed after dropping that kind of money.
I was so close to just doing a BTO MacBook Pro classic but after using my wifes MacBook Air 13 (2011) it's really hard to give up the detail in text (as I'm a developer and code all day, really makes a huge difference). I'm still on the fence about letting the BTO ship and returning this but since this display is pretty flawless I will get more work done with a solid screen over 16gb (darn you Apple for soldering the ram).
If there is ANY tint or an off white to the screen, it's the camera and my lighting. On this end it's pretty white with no tint of yellow what so ever.
