Last update of iMovie 11 to 9.0.6 does not import the audio from my Camcorder DC-20 Canon, only video

When I called Apple support number, they said they could do anything unless they had hundreds of calls about the problem. The only fix, which isn't really a fix, is to rollback to the previous version using time machine. I would get a different program. Apple doesn't care enough about iMovie to support it.

I just downloaded video (with audio) to my Mac with version 1763 and it did not work, ie no audio, then downloaded the same to my macbook, with the 163_ version , and it worked fine, then upgraded the macbook to version 1763, re did it, and it failed. Thus, I have proved that the upgrade is flawed: folks, it is not in your camcorders!! Apple, please fix this.

Canon FS100. Same problem. No audio with latest iMovie. It was working prior to this update.

The latest version of iMovie has released an update which fixes this problem for my Canon camcorder. I had the same issue but now videos are being imported from my camcorder with audio correctly attached. Give the update a go and see if your issue is fixed. Thanks Apple for the Fix!!

I can confirm that after upgrade to 9.0.7 is importing working well from my JVC Everio :-)

Same here; the new 9.0.7 upgrade has fixed the problem with uploading with my Canon FS400, Hurray!

Yes, finally works fine. A little late. I needed to finish a movie by July 28, but couldn't finish the movie I was working on. Very frustrating but appears 9.0.6 works fine now with Lion.

I had the same thing happen after importing hours of videos. The fix was simple. Go to system preferences->Sound-> input-> and select Line-In. Somehow Digital in was selected on my sound which caused the sound input to be replaced with the empty digital feed. Switching back to line-in solved the problem for me.
