Hi can i use a mains charger to charge my 2nd generation ipod touch?

Purchaas a wall charger that is compatible with the iPod. Any charger with a USB jack and that supplies 5 volts DC at 0.5 to about 2 amps is fine, The use teh cable that came wih the iPod to connect the iPod to the carger.
Thx for reply,Igot hold of a genuine ipod charger but when its plugged in its says charging is not supported with this accessory thats why i asked.
What charger did you use? The early iPods (not iPod tpuch) used FireWire (12 volts) for charging vice the current USB (5 volts).

That is the problem. iPod tpuches use 5 volts (USB voltage) for charging.
