I can't really answer the 1st part of your question. I guess you wannna know if and how, you can watch like cable TV on your Mac. It's funny...I just asked th opposite question (I want to watch my dig. movie files on my HDTV).

Anyway, I can answer the 2nd part of your question. There is no way that I know of to hook a PSone up to a Mac but, there IS an OSX native PSone emulator out there called: "Flarestorm". And it is one of the few emulators that can play actual game discs instead of "ROMs". The emulator still has a few bugs, but it works. It will only get better w/ time. And besides...you got no other choice if you wanna play those games on a Mac.

oh yeah...I wanted to add...

You can get an adapter from Radio Shack so that you can hook up a PS2 controller to a computer. It's really made for PC, but works on a Mac if you get "Gamepad Compnion" (I can attest to the fact that it works myself). A lot PC game players agree that the PS2 dualshock is the best working controller you can get for on a PC.

I don't know if they have a similar thing for PSone controllers, but I imagine they do, I know for sure that besides the PS2 adapter, there are NES & SNES adapters available.

Question 2) Read the information for those solutions. Many breakout boxes will delay the video so that playing video games through the devices has a response lag.


As for management, right now there are some issues with a third party product called Media Central. I would stick w/ what came with your computer and any software from one of the previously listed companies for your control needs.

I think all those companies/divisions have strong products. It just depends what you want. Cheap is subjective. The EyeTV EZ claims you can use an xbox through it, so that might be a good solution: http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetvez it is about 150 US though. I believe the elgato software (that would support the EyeTV is updated quite frequently and currently works on a PPC or in Rosetta
