iPad keeps going into recovery mode

Hi, I just recently purchased an iPad, first generation, from Craigslist.

It works well for about 2 hours, and then it completely freezes and turns off. When I attempt to turn it back on, it gets stuck in recovery mode or just stays stuck on the Apple logo. I plug it into my Macbook, and iTunes detects that it is in recovery mode and I need to restore it.

I've already restored it about ~8 times, and the same thing has been happening. It works well for a couple hours, and then it turns off/freezes/gets stuck on the apple logo/goes into recovery mode.

I've already updated my Macbook, iTunes and my iPad to the newest iOS.

The specs on the iPad are:

iPad 1st generation, 64 gb, WiFi/3G model

Running 5.1.1, filmware 7.11.01

Oh, and I'm also using a Macbook on 10.7.4

Any tips or ideas would help! Thanks a lot in advance 🙂
