Need Firewire 800 ExpressCard

Has anyone announced a FireWire 800 ExpressCard for the MacBook Pro? I have an external hard drive I need to connect to. Also, as a bridge, I could probably use a Firewire 400 to 800 converter. Can someone please direct me to one? I'd be grateful for any links you could supply. Thanks.

MacBook Pro 15", 2.0 GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.5), 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM

I just got mine today... but I'm having some problems with it.

If I boot the machine with the card plugged in and a FW800 drive connected to it, everything works great. The data transfer is very fast.

BUT, if I unmount the drive, pull the card out, put it back in and reconnect the drive, the computer doesn't see anything connected to the card.

Maybe it's user error, but there were no instructions with the card.

yikes...

I got mine working a little better. I have to make sure that i use the 'Power Off Card' menu item in the little expresscard icon in the menubar before I remove the card otherwise I'll have to restart the machine to get it to see drives from the card...

Not very seamless or 'plug and play' if you ask me...

Is this an Apple driver issue, or an expresscard hardware issue?

i received the card on thursday, may 18. The card is "recognized" in the desktop toolbar but that's about it. It's not in system profiler nor is it able to mount any external, powered harddrives. I sent a tech request thursday to firewiredirect.com (the "seller" for this card) but as of today, Monday, May 22, have received no reply. I'm pretty disappointed so far but hopefully it will work out. I'd hold off on buying this card at the moment. If the person who has it working would explain exactly how he/she got it to work, I'd appreciate it. Even when i start or boot the machine with the card plugged in, it doesn't work. As mentioned by another poster, there's no documentation with the package so it's pretty much "flying by the seat of your pants" kind of thing with it.
