Is there a feature like 'Navigation Pane' in Pages?

Is there a feature like MS Word's 'Navigation Pane' in Pages?

Im organizing my long document and can view thumnails of individual pages (page thumnails) but not of the hierarchical headings?

Many thanks for potential answers.

Thanks for the suggestion. Page Thumbnails show minature versions of the each page but it does not provide a quick or direct way to navigate to a particular section unless you can read VERY small text and remember where you want to go. I wish the page thumbnails would provide an option to view headers rather than the whole page ...

Well, I'd think of it more as stopping to make a call along the way than ending the journey.

Check out Jerry's suggestion to make a closer examination of Outliine View.

You might also take a closer look at the Page Thumbnails—they can be made larger by giving them more space. In the document I checked, I was able to enlarge them to a bit more than twice the height of the document page with the view scale set at 25%—larger enough to read the headings (with a little squinting).

To enlarge the thumbnails, hover the mouse at the left boundary of the page. When the pointer changes to a vertical line crossed by a two-headed arrow, click and drag right.

A click on any thumbnail will take you to that page.

Barry

I too have had this question for some time, Iainmpm. When using a Table of Contents involving hierarchical chapter and subchapter headings in a large document, Microsoft Word's "List" view in the "Navigation Pane" is king.

If Apple were to include such a function, Pages would take the throne.

I also took Barry's advice and actually made a direct request by clicking on "Provide Pages Feedback". Just thought I'd add a comment (my first since signing up just now) to keep this thread alive, especially since this new version of Pages was recently launched.
