I have a brother MFC-J5910 DW printer, how do I set it up with my macbook

Can I set up a Brother MFC-J5910DW printer to my Macbook. The software that the printer comes with says the operating system is not supported and then when I called Brother they wanted to charge me $70 to get the correct drivers to set it up. I could really use some help with this.
