Hi.

The Names are AIM valid Names and should be in the AIM Buddy list.

However I do only see one of them On line at the moment and it has been like that for at least a week.

Hi,

Right now I am seeing appleu3test03 and appleu3test01 as On line (One is Away but it will respond)

That is a 3 in the middle of the name and a zero (0) 1 and zero (0) 3 at the end of each one.

Three of the other names are @mac.com variations.

Hi,

My Fault.

They are Video Test Accounts (They also do Audio Only)

They don't Auto Reply to text Messages

I was wondering if your can Video Chat with them (it will at least be a partial test that you can video)

HI,

You have this window ?

In th Preferences >Accounts you have at least one AIM name ?

User uploaded file
Uploaded with Skitch!

Meaning in the Window Menu you can display A Buddy List

User uploaded file
Uploaded with Skitch!

From there you can add An AIM Name for one or more of the Apple test Accounts

Using the green icon you can start Video Chat (or highlighting the Buddy and then using the icons at the bottom of the buddy list)

Using the Messages window to do this is almost impossible as the IM (Instant Message) needs to be "Accepted" almost for the Video icon top left to appear (it fills up the Apple's end with Instant Messages that fill the screen in iChat and they then have to shut them down to clear them)

It is late where I am and I will be signing off soon (I may not reply for some while)

Hi,

OK so we now have an AIM valid Buddy list to which you can add AIM valid names.

appleu3test01, appleu3test02 and appleu3test03 were the first ones Apple set up.

As I posted yesterday there are only two of those On line at present (And the ones ending in @mac.com have not been on line for a while).

Highlighting one of these and using the green video icon will start the Video chat.

AS you are starting to this Test account you should see your Preview in the full sized chat window (i.e. the Video preview fills the Chat window.

Then you will either get a failure notice or the chat will connect.

When it connects your preview shrinks to be the Pic-in-Pic

This is a pic of a chat that is Connecting

The important bit about this pic is the messages about Waiting for Response From...

This actual chat never resolved past this particular message. Is that what you are seeing ?

Or are you seeing something like this Pop up ?

This can be Expanded and Scrolled.

Hi,

Quite a lot of routers come with UPnP already enabled these days.

Can you check System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall

Unlock the Padlock and click the Option Button if the Firewall is ON

In here is Allow Signed Software enabled ?

Is Messages in the list ?

Is IMAgent in the list ?

Stealth Mode should NOT be ON

On that note Blocking Pings on the router should not be On either (iChat and Messages bot send Pings for A/V Chat connections)

Hi,

IMAgent is a Support App.

This means it is in the System Side of the Computers filing system rather than being in Applications or Utilities.

Navigate in the Firewall to the Hard Drive icon/System/Library/Frameworks/IMCore

The IMAgent app is in here.

Technically the Firewall should ask you to add this when you startup the computer.

Having said that some "System" things that are Called by other apps are some times added automatically.
