On my old MacBook Pro, next to the battery icon in parenthesis it was tell me how much time is left in the battery. With the new MBPR, however, I can only get percentage left. Yes, I know if I click on the battery, it tells me the time, but does anyone know where I turned that feature on?

Weird. The MBPR doesn't have that option. I can confirm that my old MBP did. Here's what I see now. I thought I was going crazy...

I am on Lion, have the same issue.
They seem to have taken this option out for the Retina display model. Compared my MacBook Pro with Retina display to those at the Apple Store, and none had this option.
Really hope this comes back in mountain lion - no reason not to.

I added my 2 cents! I think this is crazy! I looked at my mid-2011 MBP that ws handed down to my daughter and it still has the option to see the time remaining. Why should I have to go into the menu to see the time remaining? What does the percentage do for me? NOTHING! I have also witnessed another change on the MBP w/RD from the normal MBP, look at the WiFi connections, you can now see some sort of icon next to the connected SSID, where there used to be a check mark.
I sent a message to the feedback screen.
The response said something about /dev/null
What does that mean? Is it a special option or upgrade that fixes the screen painting issues?
I have the same issue, I recently upgaded my 17" MBP to lion but have the time value choice. So something in original Lion installs that is missing that option. I will be pulling over my profile from the old MBP and see if that makes a diff. Otherwise I love the new retina display MBP and will see how It compares to the old 17".
I just got my new MacBook Pro Retina & noticed the same thing (& took to google & landed here)! That *****! I always showed the time remaining and now don't have that option. That is so wrong and makes no sense since I am running the same version of Lion as my old MacBook Pro. Come on Apple! Give us a choice.
I think after a while on battery, it can then show the time. It has to see how fast the battery is discharging before it can show the time. I am sure I've seen the time on mine....
I am at 100%, and when I hover on the battery now that I've disconnected it from the power, it says 'Calculating remaining time". It now says in the tooltip "6:55 remaining, power source battery"
I don't think it will be available in Mountain Lion unfortunately, unless they make a last minute change. I'm running Developer Preview 4 and I don't have the option to show the time remaining either.
Just download "Battery Health" from the App Store and you'll have all the info you need at the click of a menu icon.
