Does the new iPad (2012) have a USB 3.0 connection?
Kappy, take a full box of Xanax and move away from this thread.
To all others, thanks for your replies!
jeez. the way people answer questions here is like they have something up their bums. I have a question my self
What is the fastest speed that an ipad 3rd generation can transfer data to any computer?
480 mbps.
What part of Kappy's post back on June 20th stating that the iPad uses USB 2.0 was not sufficient?

It is based on the USB 2.0 standard, so the maximum transfer rate is 480 Mbps. The actual transfer rate during a synch is likely less than that, the actual task completion speed is convoluted by the nature of the synch itself and how the transfer packets are composed. This in turn will vary according the what is actually being synched (file type, size, tec.).
Bottom line, the question is only marginally relevant. It will take as long as it takes. But nothing is moving through the wires any faster than 480mbps.
hahaha you seem like you have no fun in life dude alot of people probably don't like you. I was being sarcastic lmao hahaha...... cause we all know the answer from the post.
Those who were being helpful thank you anyways
keep your thoughts to yourself thanks. love, peace and chicken grease
"dude", you're being completely rude and in no way having "fun". I would suggest you take your own advice rather than insert totally unnecessary and inflammatory comments into a thread that's not even your own.
Just like to correct you jonathan burger your talking absolute crap i agree with taco bell on my comp can copy files over usb 3 at 230mbps it two full hd films in 18 seconds tell me thats not usefull i cant find any info on if ipad is usb3 but i think it will copy as fast as the bus will allow it on the i pad il try and let you know
It's not terribly useful to jump into a thread that's months old and insult someone, particularly when that person is quoting real-world tests made by a reputable magazine. If you have different experiences, that's fine, but please avoid posting insults.
In any case, as was stated these many months ago, the iPad does not support USB 3.
Regards.
It always amazes me how people are so so impolite and quick to jump all over some one's *** in these threads. I bet if we wre all sitting in a circle none of you guys (YoQuieroTacoBell not include - I knew exactly what you were asking right way) would speak this way to your fellow person. How bout we dial it down a notch and give each other the benefit of the doubt? Thanks for all those that actually answered the question in a friendly and informative way. And who gives a f*^k if the thread is old. That doesn't mean ****. It still shows up in google so that makes it relevant. Cheers.
That's one reason why I don't come here often for support.
I've never chimed into an online support group before, however, after reading this threat line I tried but couldn't help making one simple observation: BE CIVIL! The original question was simple and honest, the replies where basically rude, not in the spirit of the question and condicending. Is this what we've come to represent as an online comunity, rudness? Now that I've made my observation, attack away if it makes you feel important.
Heavens above, no clear answer.
The only USB port on the iPad is via the dock connector. The connector is a regular USB2 connector. It will connect with a USB3 port, but transfer will only be at USB2 speed (i.e. 480 Mbps). The actual speed is, as was noted, much slower.
The question was not very clearly at first, but it was very quickly. Is it really necessary to keep jumping up and down on somebody for that?
It seems people are getting ruder the more points they have and the more posts they made.
Not naming names, but you know who you are. Try to think along with the person asking the question. Don't expect them to do everything you want them to do things i.e. Asking for help in the way you want them to.
You are the expert, new people are not. Why would they ask questions if they were?
Your point is a valid one, but why are you addressing the point at me?
