Not sure this is what was asked for people....

A similar issue I have is a work colleague has an ipad with his exchange account on it. This has been working fine for months with the colours.

How the colours should work: When a calendar entry is put into his calendar it is flagged with a colour - this replicates and is reflected on the ipad. Now this is the way it should work and has been working for months

Now, the colours are all the same and the only way to get different colours on the same calendar is to create a new calendar entry on the ipad! (not an appointment or meeting here - a new Calendar) This means that the functionality of having colours in the first place is useless. It may as well be in black and white....

Now, this just changed this weekend and nothing had changed on the ipad - and no-one is coming forward with any decent info as to why or how to fix or if any changes had been made at apple's side etc....

Apple had this issue back in 4.x iOs days and it seems to be repeated again today.....

Any help would be appreciated

In calender tap the button in the top left hand corner that says "Calendars." Then click the edit button at the top right of the pop up box > Then tap "Add Calender" > You can type the calender name or type of event in the text box and coose which colour that even should be.

Once you have done that create the new event > Where is says Calender tap that box and choose the calender type you made before. Now that event will be a different colour to the rest.

Thanks for the feedback guys, but maybe I haven't explained myself correctly so I'll simplify:

Previous to a few weeks ago, a colleague had his Exchange Calendar on his iPad.

His PA would set an appointment via her Desktop Windows PC into his Calendar and set a colour (using outlook 2010).

This outlook appointment would filter through to the ipad under a particular colour.

The PA would create another "appointment" in a different colour, and this would filter down to the ipad with this other colour.

This way, colours were used as a visual to distinguish between different types of appointment.

Since whatever happened last week/two weeks ago - this functionality no longer works.

Yes, we can set an "event" on the ipad and choose a particular colour (on the ipad) and can change the "general" colour of the appointments in the calendar but this is no good really. May as well have the calendar in black and white as the only way to distinguish different types of appointments/events on an ipad is to solely manage everything from the ipad!

Does this explain what has happened? Up to two weeks ago the ipad had this functionality, but now it seems to have just gone....

Drago

I think Apple creates small problems inour devices so that we are forced to go to make an appointment for the Genius Bar and walk through the Apple Store and get relentlessly harassed to buy new products. They need customers to have small problems to get them back in the store but not big enough to lose the customer for good. Yeah it's "Genius". I got to hand it to Apple, they know how to drain their customers pockets. My Apple products are always having extremely annoying technical difficulties that I cannot fix. I have to take time out of my schedule to go to the Genius Bar because Apple will not help you fix the problem over the phone. I am loosing interest in Apple brand products.

Some of my recent problems

iPhone battery on brand new iPhone did not last more than 3 hours

Outlook Calendar not syncing

Designated Outlook Calendar event colors were changed to red and pink (harsh on the eyes)

iTunes movies not syncing

Oh, and you cannot cut and paste your problems and complaints on their web site. They want to make it difficult for you to spread the word.

I find I can change colors on the Exchange account (gmail) but not the regular gmail account. I do not use iCloud for cals.

In exchange there is an info button (i with a circle around it), this is where colors can be chosen at will.

In gmail there is no way to make this choice.

A problem, since I have several daylong events in a dark color that are obscuring, viz masking, hour long appointments due to the color schemes that cannot apparently be changed.

is this true?

Thx
