Can't minimize my windows

Hi, I'm running OSX 10.4.5 and it's been running fine, except that just recently I can't minimize any of my open windows. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Power Mac G5, Dual 2 GHz PowerPC, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

OK, if the standard Finder windows are not minimizing it says something about the interface preferences may be corrupted or there is system level corruption which be caused by some internal hardware issues. Make sure your data is backed up, and when you are, we can go and attempt to repair the system.

Just for the record, you don't have your Dock disabled have you? Because Window minimizing is a thing the dock is needed for. If you disable the dock you can't minimize windows anymore.

Thank you for your response, nope...I don't have my dock disabled. I will say that after about the fifth time of "repairing" my hard drive, I've finally gotten my windows to minimize. I thank all of you for your help in this matter.
