The Internal one won't without adapters, it's SATA, G4s need IDE/PATA/ATA internally.
The External should work, except for booting from Install Discs.
Keep in mind that you want a well-known brand ATAPI DVD±RW drive, and not a no-name, Made-in-China device. While the latter may work in a PC without issues, this may not be the case with a Mac. The reason for this is bootability. You need to be able to select the optical drive as the startup device, and this could be a problem with certain drives.
