Experience in delivery times for retina MBP so far?

If I am not getting this wrong, the "Retina" screen is being supplied by either Samsung or LG? I thought Apple stopped getting stuff from Samsung.

Seems to be the case. If im not mistaken, aside from the kerfufle happening with the Apple Vs Samsung case, Apple is still sourcing some parts from samsung including the ssd's on the retina pros I think.

Ordered on the 7th of August, Shipped on the 14th and its on a Fedex Vehicle for delivery today. WOOOT!!!! The Fedex estimate was the 20th so you can imagine ow pleased i am! I think my mac was with a batch that was marked for expedited delivery-lucky me. cheers 🙂

playing with my mac 4-5 hours now. everything works great - very very quiet, screen very nice and no problems - LSN154YL01001, doesn't get hot at all even after an hour of video it is still cool like i would just turned it on.

the only thing is the apple logo in the back is more pinkish than whitish 🙂 i don't know if that should be like that but it other than that everything is just great.

i wanted to check what ssd i got, which company, how can i do it?

Dont worry Iram, you'll get yours soon enough. Apple has definitely caught up with demand so it'll take at most a week to ship. You should go for expedited delivery though because it can really be a pain when your mac has to stay at a sort facility over the weekend

My MBPr that I recieved this morning is a Samsung. I doubt they would halt their supply even though the huge court battle is going on.

I ordered my rMBP (2.6/512/16) at a Premium Reseller in Belgium (Switch Ghent) at July 17th and STILL haven't received it. I don't know what they are doing wrong there, but it's driving me crazy. I should have ordered online...

I was wary of placing an order with the local resellers.. One of the main stores had one display piece (glad I got to see it in person first) and a backlog of orders with no stock, and a 16gb ram upgrade would have needed a custom order anyways. skipped the middleman. Not sure if it would be a wise idea for you to cancel the order now and buy it online since its been a while, and at the very least you have a chance to return it immediately if there are any defects (hopefully none). You might want to ask when the last batch came in as well since they might have a large batch coming in. Good luck.

Yeah it's a custom order, but they said it would take 2-3 weeks. This Tuesday it will be 5 weeks... Let's hope it arrives next week because I'm slowly growing insane. I can't cancel the order, I already checked that. 😟

Oh believe me, I know your pain. Ordered an iphone 4 two years ago. got it after 2 months. This was before the online store officially opened to the UAE. Had to order it from the canadian store. It took forever to ship and when it finally did, the person supposed to recieve it and forward it to me wasn't around. It had to go back to apple, got lost in the fedex matrix before they could reroute it to someone else. On the plus side, I got to experience apple customer support first hand and they were very helpful. Hang in there. This is the chinese water torture of insanity. keep yourself distracted somehow. I'm trying to (and failing) but I did just place my order two days ago. Hope yours arrives soon safe and sound. Keep us posted. 🙂

No problems whatsoever, haven't experienced the lag people have been talking about :)

What I have noticed is that people who order the 2.6ghz MacBook Pro usually end up with an lg :)

Mine is finally getting ready for shipment:-) just noticed the status got updated. Any idea how much longer? The distracting part ain't helping :-(

No Joel, I didn't need to hear that the 2.6 seem to come with an LG screen, I ordered a 2.6 and really can't be without a laptop on an upcoming photo trip.

Awesome Dude!! 4 days and its already preparing for shipment...you must feel like a champ. Mine was preparing for shipment for two whole days, but it may take a much shorter time based on the experiences of others in this thread. Big-ups man! what your config btw?
