Experience in delivery times for retina MBP so far?

I didn't personally hear this from some reputable source but i've been folllowing the issue closely since i invested quite a bit of money in my macbook. I ordered mine with a couple of other guys (7 total). we all got sumsung screens. Besides, I have yet to hear of someone with a display issue whose order shipped in August. I think apple would deal with an issue that bad, just my 2 cents

Well thats awesome to hear because I just ordered mine 2 days ago with 2-3 day shipping. I am becoming very impatient, even thought its only been two days... Thanks for the info NaNa!

This *****, my rMBP just arrived at the fedex facility 30 minutes from my house but isn't scheduled for delivery until Monday.

Besides, I have yet to hear of someone with a display issue whose order shipped in August.

My first one shipped on 6th. My second one 20th. My third one today.

I can not imagine Samsung to have the capacity to increase production enough as to remove the need for LG displays.

Well that is really unfortunate. But what i actually started out saying was that ALMOST all macbooks shipping out since the beginning of this month had samsung displays...and yes i dont think samsung can be the sole supplier of so many LCD panels. Sorry about your experience though.

I ordered my pc in the USA on august 18th and yesterday (august 23rd) it was preparing for shipment. It shipped very early this morning (24th) and i shipped it via 2-3 business days, its due to be in tuesday or wednesday next week. (2.6ghz/16gb/256gb).

I'm really worried that i will get a LG screen.

Hey rrahimi, did you order yours custom from apple or a premade one from like bestbuy?

I am hopeing that the ones directly from apple ship with samsung screens.

I am going to be super ****** if i get a screwed up LG and unhappy if i get a LG that appears to work.

But we will see, i will report on what i have next thursday.

So Mine arrived today instead of Monday, unboxed it right at the store. Mine has an LG display. Haven't had much play time but all seems fine. How do I check for the IR? Unfortunately I need to keep this one as we leave on a photography trip next week and I need my laptop. Hopefully all remains good with this one. z,

Congrats! Just set a dark grey background, open a page and leave it on for 15 minutes and minimize it to show the solid background. Hopefully all goes well...

There is a good checkerboard test but i cant seem to find it.

Custom built, ordered from Apple Online Store. At the assembly level, the supply chain is the same. Bestbuy would have LGs and Samsungs like Apple Stores.

Wouldn't worry too much if the LG was functional. I doubt this problem can develop over time. It's either there or not.

LGs have better black levels but apparently lower brightness and a yellow tint (that might be a calibration thing).

None the less, 2500 for a shity screen is unacceptable.

Especially since Apple has had 2-3 months to catch this issue and correct it.

I don't know guys but I am not seeing any IR on my LG display. All seems good. So relieved.

I finally got my laptop... yay :-):-).. it's amazing. I checked the display, it's LG unfortunately.. but don't nsee any problems yet. Need to do the IR test though. But overall amazing piece of engineering!..

Yeah, i agree...current LG screens shouldn't have any IR issues if they are being shipped.
