Experience in delivery times for retina MBP so far?

So I put in an order for a retina Macbook Pro on June 17 and as we all know the estimated time to ship is 3-4 weeks right now.

For those of you who also ordered online, have you received yours yet? Curious to see if the estimated time to ship is accurate or if they're just managing expectations.

Yes, I'm impatient!

I ordered my rMBP on the 18th as well, with exactly the same customization, 2.6/16gb/256gb, and it still hasn't shipped. I hate the period before they actually give you a tracking number, there's no way to actually figure out what's happening with your order.

And as for the LG screens, I've heard, and also experienced this first hand at my local Apple store, that they're noticably less vibrant and much dimmer than the Samsung models. If I were to recieve a product, that I paid just as much for as everyone else, and it had any reported defects, I'd be pretty peeved. I wouldn't have thought that Apple, of all companies, would let this kind of thing happen, especially when they put so much emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction.

I have this link which I used to keep track of my order when I got the delivery reference number.

This will keep you updated till it reaches some local courier company like UPS or TNT. Then once it reaches UPS or TNT, apple will update it on their tracking shipment page. Im getting mine tomorrow and I followed the whole process through and through. Hope it helps!

Have you had the preparing to ship for a while now? Or has it gotten that far for you?

I know I am going to be ****** if the screen isn't good to go. I have school on the 6th and I need this thing ready to go. This is my first MacBook and for 2500, it better be good. I am a long time windows fan and following vista, I'm looking for a different experience. Though, I will still be using windows for school.

But I may just stay with windows if I can get a good MacBook the first time or at least by the second time.

It's been over 2 months. They should have this stuff squared away.

Anyone wonder if apple is ignoring the issue to just save money?

I am an engineering student so the screen quality is a little less important but still nice. I got it for the SSD,16gb, and quad core. Plus I liked the thinner design and I never use the CD drive in my old laptop.

But I ordered mine at about 11 on Saturday the 18th, I believe. In the USA, I don't know where you live, and it switched to the preparing to ship a few hours ago. You gotta be close man. Hang in there.

I am really nervous about that screen though. I know I'll get an LG( I have bad luck lol).
