Same Concern!
I am trying to apply for a job on a government website. I keep receiving" C:\fakepath\ " when trying to upload my cover letter as an accepted attachment. HELP?!
The original Poster solved this problem by using Firefox, which is based on a different underlying engine than Safari.
That isn't anything to do with the website. It is what the browser is sending to the site. The browser is following HTML 5 specifications about the path of the file being uploaded. The specifications says the path needs to be masked with c:\fakepath. For a mac it would be c/fakepath. I know that Firefox doesn't follow this specification but Safari, IE, Chrome and Opera do. I hope this answers your question.
I'm using Safari on an iPad Pro and have the same fakepath problem. I can't send a document I created via email. And I've yet to find anyone who cal tell me how to fix it. Any more ideas?
