Cleaning Out Battery Corrosion from Wireless Aluminum Keyboard?

I have the keyboard (with two batteries) and the batteries leaked and exploded somehow and I realized because the keyboard stopped working . I was able to get both batteries out since they just leaked slightly. But the acid is now dried up on the insides of the battery well, and the very inside of the well where the first battery makes contact (at the far end of the tube). I have tried to put new batteries in but the keyboard does not work, and it is tricky to get them out, but I did. SO, I am trying to see what the best and safest way to fix this is. I have tried taking it to the Apple store and they told me it was not covered by the warranty and I should just try experimental methods found online!!

Anyway, I am thinking of using the baking powder and water, or wd40 or coffee techniques that I have seen online, but was wondering if I drip a little in there, how long should I let it sit, and will it damage the inside contact point where the battery hits (near the power button), and the actual functionality of the keyboard? Any help is much appreciated! If you have succesfully done this before please let me know!

I took it to a Certified Apple Retailer here called Conceirge, there are no actual Apple Stores here in Korea. They called Apple Korea, where I bought the keyboard, and they said it wasn't their problem because it was the batteries that malfunctioned, not their keyboard. So, they wouldn't echange it. I'm pretty teed off as it was less than one year old.

When I get time, I'm going to take it to the place I usually go for mac repairs and see if they know what to do. In the meantime, I'm using the bluetooth keyboard for my ipad.
