Tool bar buttons disappeared in version for iPad
I have Pages and Numbers on my iPad 2. Two of the toolbar buttons disappeared after an update.
Specifically the Info button and the Object button. Anybody have any idea how to get them back?

It all still works, you just need to explore. There is a ruler in Pages. It is used for margins, tab settings, etc. There is a document setup for setting overall margins in a document.
I suggest you take a few moments to read the Getting Started Document that comes with Pages and Numbers as well as spending some time with the Help Files that can be found in the Tools Menu (wrench). You'd be surprised how much is still there and working.
Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly with suggestions. Sadly I have explored the "+" and the "paintbrush" buttons. They don't have all the functionality that the previous buttons had. For example where do you go to set margins?
I am baffled by Apple's decision to make the changes. Don't fix what isn't broken!
The missing icons on your toolbar can be restored by using View > Customize Toolbar (or Right (CTL)-Click on the toolbar) and drag the missing icons back onto your toolbar.
To remove any unwanted icon, simply drag the icon off of the toolbar - thay can be added back at any time.
When done, click Done.
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my post. Unfortunately what you describe only works if you using the computer version of Pages or Numbers. The problem I am having is with the version for iPad. I didn't remove the buttons, they just disappeared.
Thanks again for trying to help.
You are absolutely right... what I wrote was for OSX versions, not iOS - I totally missed that.
Now... for iOS - there was a change that occured in the change from iOS 4 to iOS 5:
the Media Browser (looked like a landscape picture) - which you used to add shapes, pictures, tables and chart objects changed to a button with a "+" in it in iOS 5 - it does the same thing - adds objects to your Pages or Numbers document.
The Info button (had an "i" in it) is now the "Styles" Menu button (looks like a brush) but does basically the same thing - allows you to modify selected objects or text.
You didn't lose buttons, Apple changed them to more confusing ones for reasons I'm sure they had, but threre you are... try them and see if that answers your question.
Part of the problem I had was that the "Getting Started Documents" on my iPad referred to the old tool bar. However, I went into the settings and click reset for the GSD's and much to my delighted got the updated documents. So now I have a proper reference.
Thanks again for your assistance and patience.
