New Retina Macbook Pro - strange whining Sound

Hi,

i just received my new Macbook Pro Retina - brilliant machine. But suddenly it starts to whine - I can hear the whining while sitting in front of the notebook, so its pretty loud. The sound does appear when I move windows or enter mission control. The sound disappears when I plug in the power supply. I made a recording: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oysfex8imnggefe/RMBP_whine.m4a

None of my Macbook's I owned before made such noises. Is my notebook faulty?

Yes, defiantly tied to the track pad.

The noise is coming from the bottom left corner.

If I hover my ear above it I hear it whining, put my fingers on the track pad it instantly goes

away....very little pressure too.

My finger has to be not the track pad to make it go away, I tried other location near it...no dice.

That is an odd sound (thanks for providing a sample). However, I too have a fairly new Late 2013 rMBP 13/8gb/256gb and with or without the charger, mine is incredibly quiet (and that's while doing intensive editing with Aperture). I guess I'm lucky? If it's fairly new, you should just swap it for another one if you haven't already.

So actually I've been having this sound too, since I got this computer, and now I found out that it is not the SSD, but the charger, or the battery.

HI, I have thr same issue on rMBP 2014. It comes from the left side. I decided to return back the product. It s a refurbished Mac

im sad because it makes no noise during the download of Yosemite for the clean install...

I had a constant low-volume whirring sound on the left corner of my Macbook Pro Retina 2015 today, and resetting the NVRAM fixed it!
