Apple TV 3 - a truely disappointing device :-((

Hi there

I just bought an Apple TV 3 - and looking for some useful software, since the device comes without almost every basic feature you would expect... truely disappointing. (Just to say, I usually was a big fan for Apple products, I'm writing this from my iMac i7 for example, while my family is using an iPad and an iPod in the meantime).

Almost ANY other streaming device would be equipped with full .mkv codec support, would be able to stream from any directory from your Mac or PC, would offer a browser, and eventually even keyboard support. None of this with the Apple TV 3.

So, is it really to wait for additional software like firecore and pay another 30 USD to finally make it work?

Thanks, René

Depends on how you look at it. For me, I'm using an old Notebook: Can't hear the FAN, very low power consumption. On top of that, it's my always-on iTunes instance that I control remotely with my iPhone and iPad using iTunes remote, I can use it for long running downloads, to stream free stuff to my TV (for example the super bowl could be streamed), ESPN's free IPTV channel, etc.
