Podcasts App - No sync with iTunes??

New Podcasts App = great (thanks). BUT...

I want the Podcasts that I've subscribed to in iTunes to appear automatically on any device (iPhone, iPad) that I have signed in under the same Apple ID. I subscribe to about 28 podcasts and it is a real pain to have to manually add each of those to both my iPhone and my iPad — not to mention keeping all that in sync as I add or delete subscriptions over time.

Is anyone else having this problem? Do you think Apple is working on a fix for this? I've got the latest everything, iOS 5.1.1, iPhone 4S, iPad3, iTunes 10.6.3, iCloud. No luck 😟

I also had a lot of podcasts in my Mac's Itunes library, but none of them appeared in my iPhone's podcasts app.

Here's what worked for me:

1- Uncheck all podcasts in Mac's iTunes (under devices > iphone > podcasts)

2- Syncronize (That should mean deleting all podcasts from the iPhone)

3- Uninstall Podcasts app from iPhone

4- Reinstall Podcasts app

5- Re-Check podcasts to syncronize in iTunes

6- Sync

7- It worked for me!

Hope that helps!

What I want to know is if there is some way of syncing podcasts that I get on my 'iOS podcast app' back to itunes on my computer.

I have a iPod touch that I want to use to download podcasts to when I am in town on WiFi and then sync them to my computers itunes so I could sync to iPhone 5 etc.

I have super slow dailup (2KB/s) so downloading to my computer at home is not a option as I use about 20GB/month in podcasts. I have been bringing my computer to town but if it could be avoided it would be good.

My cellular data cap on iPhone of 6GB/month is almost used up without any podcasts so all this iCloud syncing won't work either.

Was finally able to find the Podcast options, which was made difficult because Podcasts appear in at least 4 place on iTunes. By clicking on iPhone, a screen comes up where there is indeed a Podcasts tab at the top.

Places where Podcasts appear on iTunes:

1) Left side ... Library

2) Left side ... In Devices section under iPhone

3) After clicking on iPhone, on master screen at the top as a tab

4) In the iTunes store itself; but can only subscribe to new podcasts here

Apple has an opportunity to streamline this. Adding to the complexity is the number hardwired / wi-fi / iCloud syncing.

Have you guys ever noticed iTunes is the most frustrating app you will ever have to deal with? It's simply dumb.

I have been trying to sync my iphone4 to a new laptop, and been unsuccessful. It says "Podcasts on the iPhone cannot be synched because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist". Trust me, I have deleted all the podcasts on my iPhone, and on iTunes.

I don't see my iPhones icon on iTunes. I have even reinstalled iTunes to the latest. I removed Podcast program on iPhone. I deauthorized all accounts on this iPhone, and authorized only this new laptop.

What did I miss?

Please give me a hint... or scrap this iTunes thing.

Thanks.

Hi all do you know how to stop the new terrible podcast app from using up all my phone data?

And secondly, does anyone know how to make the podcasts play one after the other as they used to in itunes? (instead of stopping after one podcast..very annoying when driving)

And finally, I can no longer delete podcasts from my itunes library.

I HATE this new app - why of wht can't I use itunes for my podcasts!!!

Thanks anyone who can help

I've been using Pocket Casts and have turned off all iTunes podcasts (except for one I can't seem to get on PocketCasts).

Pocket Casts Pros:

Much more predictable.

Very straightforward.

Much less hassle.

More control of playback speed (if you're into that sort of thing. Quality is still less than normal speed replay).

Pocket Casts Cons:

Text is as hard to read as Apples Podcasts app (since iOS 7, anyway).

Manually entry of some obscure podcasts doesn't seem to work.
