Your Payment Information about your Credit/Debit Card will NOT be removed.

If you wanna use the same Apple ID but DO NOT want to use Credit/Debit Card,

you can BUY a gift card and redeem it to your Apple ID.

After redeeming your gift card to your Apple ID, (from ipod/iphone/ipad)

1. Click your Apple ID

2. Click "View Apple ID"

3. Click "Payment Information"

4. Click "None"

and from that point on, you can now download Apps, Music, & Videos

(as long as you still have credits on your account)

**NOTE: Payment Information (Credit/Debit Card) will NOT be removed.

this is only to be able to access your apple ID.

Install iTunes on your computer (already installed if you have a mac). In the menu bar go to:

Store > Sign In

Then (once signed in)

Store > View My AppleID (enter password and click "View Account")

Look for "Apple ID Summary" and a line item called "Payment Information" and click "edit" to the right of it.

From there you can select "None" as a credit card type

Thanks to the beautiful update in IOS and no more ability to have your OWN choice of no payment method, I can no longer redownload any of my BOUGHT; purchased applications and over 100 BOUGHT iTunes songs. My Vanilla MasterCard descended on me and let me down, and ran out of precious card dollars and decided to make Apple hate me and have there be a negative billing effect. Thank you Apple for being such a great friend and taking my precious apps and music away from me just from taking the no payment away. I mean honestly, everyone else here wanted it gone as well.

I had a credit card on my account for 3 weeks, followed what ItsPerryXD said to do and the none button was there. When I first setup my phone, (after purchase), the none button wasn't there. I called Apple and they walked me through how to get the none option to show. So a credit card can be taken off your account, jus gotta do more research or call Apple, they are helpful.
