I have read discussions on how to remove your credit card because I recently deactivated it, however supposedly there is a "None" option to press to take your credit card off, however it does not appear on my computer. I live in the united states. please help

Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information?
Apple is more or less saying "You must have a valid form of payment on your itunes account, in the event you want to select 'no payment' then you'll have to buy a gift card" -Surely someone on this board with a law degree can inform me as to why that's legal.
But there is no "none" option!!
The fix for this is simple i had to figure it out myself
1. turn off family sharing you will have to wait a while took a couple of hours to fully take affect
2. keep checking your apple id on your device then go to payment information when family sharing drops the none option will appear
3. now you can select none
*Keep in mind you can not have family sharing and none selected it tells you this when you turn on family sharing now someone needs to sticky my response and close this thread.
I have tried to do this multiple times and the done button is not active.
Is this just another way Apple trys to make money!!
This is the hardest process to removing a CC from a site that I have ever experienced!!
I don't OWE, anything on my account and NONE is not available to remove my cc. This is very frustrating can't even download free apps.. ridiculous.

you have no idea how helpful this was.. Apparently I owed Apple $2.89.. So I uploaded another card (another valid card), THEN I hit it and select none.. Thank you SO MUCH!! I appreciate it.
