Your 217 songs are still yours. When you reinstall itunes, they will be there in itunes. I had to redownload mine from the cloud. Click on the cloud sign in the song title bar (if that's your particular issue). Otherwise, I can only guess not everything was uninstalled. You need to find all of those programs and get rid of them all. Download itunes, click the clouds, sync and you are good. If you are on MacOS, I can't answer...don't know. Just going off what I did and it worked perfectly.
I don't think I have cloud - I don't see any cloud sign in the song title bar. How do you get cloud?
My basic problem is that it won't sync because "Owner's iPod cannot be found." I haven't been able to solve this problem and don't know what to do next.
THIS !!!! It works now !! thanks ! 🙂 I followed the instructions step by step and it worked !
I found this solution on another thread and it works without reinstalling itunes or using the cloud:
Download the latest version of iTunes. Open iTunes and connect the nano to your PC or Mac, click on the iPod box at the top right of the iTunes screen (next to iTunes Store). It should take you to the Summary page and you should see a picuture of the iPod Nano. Click on "Music" next to the Summary tab. Click the box "Sync Music". Your music should start syncing right away.
This worked for me without having to install that PMB software it kept referring me to which would get stuck and not respond. Hope this helps!
This was the only thing that worked after half a day wasted on Apple's unhelpful suggestions. No points to Apple but thank goodness there is at least one intelligent person out there. Hopefully Apple will make them managing director soon.
