To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Where are you clicking to drag? On the machine with the Library? On the machine receiving the Library?
On the machine with the library and dragging it to the machine I want to copy the library to (hers).
On that machine, can you drag it anywhere? To the desktop, for instance? Or the Users/Shared folder?
I can drag it to the desktop but it doesnt copy it to the desktop it moves the file out of the pictures folder altogether. I don't see a Users/Shared Folder.
Yes, and it moves the file completely. Not a copy. but I can move it to either location on my machine.
