Numbers 09: How to format a cell for TIME only?

I want to set a cell format to a time value only (hh:mm) without a data. When I use inspector to format the cell to using "Date and Time" then selecting "None" for the Date format and "7:08 PM" for the Time format, the cell reflects the desired format however, the entry field about the sheet includes the date. How do I format the cell to only have Time in an HH:DD format?

MCB,

There are different ways to have a time-only value, depending on what you want to do with it.

Perhaps the easiest is to format the cell as HH:MM Duration. Example:

Another approach is to go ahead and use the Date-Time value and strip out the Date when you mske further use of the data. This allows more flexibility in formatting.
