i bought apple tv and trying to connect my iphone 4s but i dont get airplay option on my phone or on my computer when i home share... please advice the troubleshooting....

i restared the iphone4s many times... i have seen that option on my friends place on my phone but i dont see it now on my phone..is ter any option to enable airplay on iphone4s???
There's Airplay from apps and Airplay mirroring which are different.
I assume your AppleTV and phone are connected to the same network at home.
Airplay mirroring needs you to doubkle click home button to get the panel to appear at the bottom that lists current apps. Swipe to the right a couple of times and the leftmost screen has the setup icon for Airplay mirroring next to the volume slider.
Do you see that?
On the phone can you see a shared iTunes library in Music (maybe be under More category)?

Is AppleTV on wirless or wifi - it shouldn't matter but I've seen some people say it won't work for them unless on wifi, as though the oruter is keeping traffic separate.
Restarting AppleTV and router are also advisable if you've not done so.

I tried restating router, apple tv, laptop n iphone. still no sign of the air play symbol on both.
i have connected my device through wifi.(Wireless n wifi is same)
is tere any perticular setting on iphone i have to check on to get is started....

Sorry I'm out of ideas really.
Wifi connectivity issues like this are tricky to troubleshoot.
Is your router configured to block any ports as some may be necessary for proper Airplay connectivity.

Have youd tried only using wifi for both your PC and ATV? That is the only way i get airplay, and stream from itunes to ATV.

Make sure AirPlay is enabled on the Aplle TV.

The only place I can find the AirPlay icon is from the lock screen on my 4S. It appears at the top to the right of the on screen volumn control. Works.
Oh....and push the home button twice from the lock screen
Have you been able to resolve this? Have you tried using it on a different router?
