I have installed my lexmark x1100 printer to macpro but it keeps telling me that the ink pots are wrong and they are not how can over ride this issue please help

I have installed my lexmark x1100 printer to my macpro lion but though it registers its there it keeps telling me that the inkjet pots are not in position or wrongly inserted, how can I overcome this problem which is driving me crackers!!!!!

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

I don't know about Lexmark printers, but I know that my Canon printer has microchips embedded in the ink cartridges and if one is out of place I cannot print. If I were you I would remove all cartridges and reseat them in the right cartridge slots.


I think that this may solve your problem - either you have cartridges in the wrong slots or they are not properly seated.

Thanks for the additional info. If the printer works using your Dell Laptop, then the printer is working fine. The problem is with the driver. The Lexmark X1100 is only compatible up to Mac OS 9.2.2. If you have the Mac OS X, unfortunately, it's not compatible with that OS.


You might want to consider purchasing a new printer - preferably a network printer since you have multiple computers. We do have printers that are currently on sale online. You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/KQBDe0


Those printers are compatible with the newest Operating Systems both for Windows and Mac. It also has drivers for Linux.
