iMovie for Windows XP ??

I've done this in the past without issue for other Mac files.

However, iMovie is no longer available as a download.

Perhaps some updates are

Movies created by the iMovie program can, but the iMovie editing program itself cannot.

If you meant is there a version that will run on a Windows XP, the answer is no. iMovie is a Mac only program.

I'm sure some bean counter has presented the idea of porting the iLife apps to Windows. QuickTime has a Windows version for over a decade and iTunes runs on PC's.
But these apps help sell Mac's and I think that is what you should look into.
The Mac mini is now a powerful machine and reasonably priced. New buyers get the iLife suite included and installed.

ipod

You'd better ask this in the iPod forum. AFAIK there are Win apps (MPEG Streamclip etc) that can convert to iPod video format.

Your need to "convert" the video format and codecs used for your files to be iPod "acceptable".
Tons of free software that can do the conversion. Search using Google.

Other than iTunes, I believe the only X-platform app that Apple sells is FileMaker.

So, in otherwords the new ipod 30GB video I got for
my Birthday I can forget about loading any movies on
it. True ??

I think QuickTime 7 Pro can do that for you if you're willing to pay the $30 for the upgrade.

Appleworks (or at least ClarisWorks) was available for Windows.
