The iPhone 3G does not show up in My Computer, but syncs OK with iTunes, no problem. I need to back up my photos on the iPhone!! Any help appreciated. Thanks!

How about when using the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard?
I tried that, control panel/scanner and camera/ add camera and there isn't an option for Apple iPhone. Went to use DISK and searched for c:/windows/inf and did not have any luck there.... I tried moving to different USB ports on my computer, but no luck. I have done it before, but perhaps on a different computer.
When I connect my iPhone to a PC running Windows XP just to charge it, the scanner and camera wizard launches automatically prompting me what to do about importing the photos in the Camera Roll. I don't recall having to add my iPhone as a camera first. The scanner and camera wizard detected my iPhone as a camera automatically which it should do without having to do anything extra first - as long as there are photos in the Camera Roll.

So, the scanner and camera wizard *does not* launch automatically and I followed the support link you suggested to Start/Accessories/Scanner and Camera Wizard and it does not detect the iPhone.... I have the latest update on the iPhone. I guess I'll try another computer. Any other ideas?

Are you connecting your iPhone direct to a USB port on your computer - not connected to a USB hub?
If a desktop, are you connecting the iPhone direct to one of the higher powered USB ports located at the rear of the computer.
Have you tried all available USB ports?
I started up another laptop I have and have recently re-installed the OS. It recognized the iPhone and as a digital still camera. I am trying to download the photos using Picasa 3. Don't know why my main laptop doesn't see the iPhone. I have used 3 of the internal USB ports and no luck. Using another laptop tells me the USB cord is fine. I'm stuck.....
My PC (windows xp) does not recognize the iPhone as a digital camera. What do I do?
