I've always had the purchased tab in the AppStore on my iPad since I bought it..... And today suddenly it disappeared.... Any suggestions how I can get it back? There's only 5 tabs in my AppStore now to choose from as opposed to 6 ..... since the purchased tab is suddenly gone......?

As a temporary solution, you can type in the name of the app, and the "BUY" button should be an "INSTALL" button.
Now, a couple of things to try:
Make sure nothing related to apps is restricted in Settings > General > Restrictions.
Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
I am a little confused as to which device you have. You posted in the iPod touch forum but your profile shows that you have an iPad. There is no Purchased tab on the iPod touch, it is a submenu of the "Updates" tab. On the iPad, it should be there, to the left of the Updates tab. If you have an iPad and it does not appear, let us know so we can offer troubleshooting steps.
Sorry I did not know I was posting in iPod touch.... Yes it is actually about my iPad.... I am so confused as to why my purchased tab is suddenly gone from AppStore? I depend heavily on it to download things which I have previously purchased in my iPhone.... Can you please help me?

I reset the Ipad but still nothing 😟
No changes made in settings....
And the first option is helpful but unfortunately its complicated this way because I have hundreds of Apps purchased so it's much easier for me if they could all just show up for me like they used to.... :/

I have no idea as to why. Another option would be to connect to iTunes and select all of your purchased apps and drag them to the iPad.
While you are connected to iTunes, you might also try right clicking on the name of your iPad where it appears under the "DEVICES" section in iTunes, and then clicking on Restore from Backup. Any data between the backup and now would be lost, but reloading from an earlier point where the problem did not exist may fix the issue. As a last resort, you could repeat the process but set it up as a new iPad. Once you sign into the store, the purchased tab should be there.
Oops! I rebooted correctly this time and it worked! This whole time I thought I was rebooting when I was just turning the ipad off... I didn't know I had to keep presssing on both buttons and ignoring past the power off switch... thanks so much!
