Creating Apple ID without credit card

Hi,

How can I create an Apple ID to use on Itunes without a credit card? I want to get free apps for my ipod touch.

I don't want to go through giving my serial number just to contact Apple support.

I searched Google for an answer, and many people say an Apple ID can't be made without a credit

card but I know that's not true. Many people already have. The closest I've come to making an Apple ID

is clicking on a free app in Itunes, and then I start making an Apple ID account, I click "none" for payment,

and I enter address/name, and when I click next is says "Please contact Itunes support to complete

this transaction."

I read the Apple support article "HT2534" and it's not valid based on my experience, because

after I click "none" and fill in name/address, it says to contact "Itunes support" as mentioned above.

I won't tether my credit card information to my serial number and iPod because I want to read pdf

files on my iPod with privacy.

When I want to buy apps, I already have an iTunes gift card to make payment, but I can't use it

without an Apple ID.

Help.

Hi imwright29,

Thanks for your answer, but I'm afraid it doesn't work. I tried everything you mention - free app, download, apple ID, new account - but when i click "none" for payment and fill in name, address and click next, it says I need to contact Itunes support to complete the transaction. It looks like it worked a few years ago, but not now.

I'm really frustrated about this and am starting to question if I wasted all my money on the ipod.

Sad.

Here is how you can create an Apple ID in the application store without having to use any form of paymemt method:

1. Download any FREE application inside the store on any Apple device without an account.

2. Once the pop up window opens, hit 'CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT.'

3. Make sure you use a fresh, new email that you have not yet attempted to use prior to this explanation (create a new email if you have to.)

4. Fill in the required fields to continue on to the second page. (When my cousin was doing this a few minutes ago, he put a fake birth year, a year that made him under the age of 18, thus perhaps helping towards card problems)

5. Once you are on the page that asks for your payment information, on the top section, grouped in under the credit cards, there will be an option labled 'NONE.' Select it, and fill in your billing information.

Now, you should be done!

Hope this cleared out some fog, good luck Apple users,

- Android User.

hi. i am using a macbook air and i got it last year (2013). i successfully made an apple account without credit card information. Just today, october 22 2014, my friend asked me if i could make an apple account for her so i tried. i logged out my apple id and i make one for her. But when i did make one for her, the "none" option from the credit card info doesn't appear so i pressed cancel and told her i cant make one anymore because of the credit card info (she doesn't have credit card). When i tried to log in in my account, its says "this apple id has not been used with the app store, please review your account information". and then i did. the none option was still there but it says " a title is required". i don't know what to do please help.User uploaded file

In the UK, I tried to create an account without a credit card on iTunes using a computer and there is no option to do that without a credit card.

However, I did have success using the apple guide on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 using an iPhone that had just been wiped of all data and reset. I created the account on the iPhone and there was an option for None in the credit card list.

That guide says that you can do the same on iTunes, but the option "none" was not available in the list of payment options.

Oct 10, 2012 12:44 AM in response to Apple8854

the issue here is when there is 'none' option when creating a new apple id not existing.

i had the same dillema when i was making my 1st apple id. after reading through different guides and forums all is offering the same answer on how to get this done, create new apple id! w/c i don't agree and refuse to agree.

One thing is common on this kind of issue (missing 'none' option under billing) that isyou opened itunes > registered your account (i guess from a pc like i did!)

For 1st time Apple ID registration (meaning you never ever and ever have tried registering/using your preferred apple id/e-mail address)

1. Open iTunes
2. Go to iTunes Store
3. Search and install any 'Free' App (Facebook, Find My iPhone, etc)

4. Follow the step by step instructions
5. And under billing you should have 'none' option

Now let's say you were as excited as me to register your 1st Apple ID and you skipped the steps above and is now having issues w/ missing 'none' option there are two (2) approach you can do.
1. Create a new Apple ID and follow steps above -yes! that easy. Although you haven't finished the part for the billing due to the missing 'none', the Apple ID you entered is already registered and cannot be used anymore unless you finish the billing.

2.If you wish to keep your Apple ID without making a new one then Do Steps Below! -maybe it's not just me but the 1st Apple ID i used is what i really want so creating a new one is a no no! So if you would like to stick with your used Apple ID and encounters the issue above. So thinking out of the box i came up with the steps below which should help you like it did to me!

But you need to have:
1. Another Apple ID (say a temporary Apple ID since you don't like it and hopefully you finished the steps above)

2. Another e-mail address

When you have these then let's go!

2.1 Login to your Apple ID(Phone/PC) the one with the missing 'none' athttps://appleid.apple.com
2.2.Click 'Manage Account'
2.3 Under 'Apple ID and Primary Email Address' click edit
2.4 Remove your Apple ID (seven/seven@mail.com which ever it is)
2.5 Put your other e-mail account
2.6 Hit 'Save Changes'

2.7 Login to the Apple ID you successfully created (but not the one you preferred!)

2.8.Click 'Manage Account'

2.9 Under 'Apple ID and Primary Email Address' click edit

2.10 Remove your Apple ID (seven/seven@mail.com which ever it is)
2.11 Enter your desired/original/preferred Apple ID

2.12 Hit 'Save Changes'

2.13 Open iTunes
2.14 Problem solved!

This is a long and tedious task but if you really wanted to keep your Apple ID then it's going to be worth it!

Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps!

The insructions work on a computerm as well as on an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

On computer itunes demands a credit card. On ipod/iphone/ipad u use app store not itunes store thats why u can create a free account.

Why don't you try following those instructions on a computer and see if it works...

Step 3 is important, no matter whether you do this on a Mac or an iPad / iPhone:

Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install a free application. ...

Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install the free application by tapping Free followed by tapping Install App. ...

To summarize, you must first download a free app from the App Store. When you are asked to sign in with your Apple ID, select "Create new account". Accept the terms and conditions checkbox, then click Continue. After you enter all the requested personal data, click Continue.

When you are asked to select a payment method, select "None".

I just made up this ID (SaryAW), and here is the way:

I installed itunes, clicked on App Store, tried to install iBook (free app), it asked me to sign in or create an ID, signing in did not work so I clicked on create new apple ID (with a different email adress ofcorse), gave my info and when asked about billing info I chose none (it was available but last time when creating without trying to download a free app it was not available), it asked me to confirm via a mail message and I did, then went back to itunes and it said Congratulations! then clicked continue shopping and everything went well.

Got the steps from apple itself:

Thanks to you all.

This is very simple. Follow these steps to get it without a credit card! :-)

Materials needed: iDevice, laptop/computer, iTunes on the laptop or computer, and your charger without the adapter.

Steps:

1) plug your iDevice to the computer/laptop.

2) open up iTunes, if you don't have it, download it here: https://apple.com/itunes/download

3) click on 'iTunes Store'

4) Go to 'App Store' from the 'iTunes store'

5) download any random app. Make sure you're logged out of any apple ID.

6) once it tells you to either create or use an apple ID, click create and apple ID.

7) Agree to the terms, then, next to the credit card information, it should have a box saying 'none'. Click that. Now you can continue making your apple ID.

Hope this helps,

We can't help you since we are all just users like yourself. You have to create your own Aplple ID:
