Creating Apple ID without credit card

Hi,

How can I create an Apple ID to use on Itunes without a credit card? I want to get free apps for my ipod touch.

I don't want to go through giving my serial number just to contact Apple support.

I searched Google for an answer, and many people say an Apple ID can't be made without a credit

card but I know that's not true. Many people already have. The closest I've come to making an Apple ID

is clicking on a free app in Itunes, and then I start making an Apple ID account, I click "none" for payment,

and I enter address/name, and when I click next is says "Please contact Itunes support to complete

this transaction."

I read the Apple support article "HT2534" and it's not valid based on my experience, because

after I click "none" and fill in name/address, it says to contact "Itunes support" as mentioned above.

I won't tether my credit card information to my serial number and iPod because I want to read pdf

files on my iPod with privacy.

When I want to buy apps, I already have an iTunes gift card to make payment, but I can't use it

without an Apple ID.

Help.

Hi imwright29,

Thanks for your answer, but I'm afraid it doesn't work. I tried everything you mention - free app, download, apple ID, new account - but when i click "none" for payment and fill in name, address and click next, it says I need to contact Itunes support to complete the transaction. It looks like it worked a few years ago, but not now.

I'm really frustrated about this and am starting to question if I wasted all my money on the ipod.

Sad.

Hi. Mine is iphone 5C too and have experienced the same thing. I already have an existing apple id account that i created thru my iphone and verified thru pc. Then I try downloading apps from the AppStore but upon signing in, a popped up message appear saying "your apple id has not been used in ItunesStore.. please review your account etc.." and when i reviewed my account there goes other requirements i need to fill in like payment method and billing address. I dont have a credit card and there's no "NONE" option and so I tried to skip it by clicking next but did not work. And so I thought of going to Itunes Store since the message implied that I should use my apple id first in ItunesStore. I just open the ItunesStore and click the "sign in" and then the same popped up message appear but I continue anyway and then this time there's already a "NONE" option and so no need to give a credit no.,gc no. etc. Just click next and a message saying "Congratulations" will appear. You can now log in freely on your iphone with your apple id 😀

(From the Phone/Ipod/Ipad)Without having signed in with an apple ID...try to purchase a free app, when it comes up asking you to create a new ID or use and an existing ID, Create a new one, put in the info it asks on the first screen. On the second screen, you will see the option for none.

*Note* You have to first try to download a free app or it will not work, not sure why apple made it like this, but these are my findings.

You will always be prompted for credit card info if a credit card payment method is selected (the default selection for new AppleID's is Visa).

The payment methods are displayed as a row of logos (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Paypal) at the top of the credit card info section. The very last logo in that row says "NONE." Select "NONE" and Apple will stop prompting you to enter credit card information for your account.

change ur country to United States & it will show u the "none" option in the credit card page....& after tht Instead of making a new apple ID anywhere, you have to try to buy something free. Go to the app store, and try to download a free app. When it asks you for an apple ID, then hit make a new account. You will be able to skip the part with the credit card, and make a new account.

3 download any free app.

4 it will ask you to sign in to download. click CREATE APPLE ID at botom of the box

5 then fill all your details and select none and fill your address and submit it

6 a verification email is sent to your email mentioned in the form

7 verify that email.

This is what your need to do.

1.Create a new email account. (do not use any old one that has been associated with apple. And do not use anyone that you have started to use in the registration of apple id process) Just create a new one, its easier.

2.Use the app store on an Iphone for the registration process (using an ipad or a mac, even if it is through itunes or the apple website would not work.) ONLY an IPHONE will generate the none option. you can even borrow from a friend, sign them out of the appstore and register yours.

3.Go to the app store, try and download a free app, choose "create new apple id", use the new email address, add the rest of the information asked, when its time for billing, you will see the none button, click it and continue the process.

Tried and tested. You are welcome

**** you, Apple. You guys cant even create a simple **** program where "none" is a viable option. Now I have a useless registered account that I cant do anything with because I dont have a credit card. You know not everyone in the world has one. Shame, you guys don't know how to code things correctly. At least make a **** feature that allows you or ourselves to delete/remove such accounts as mine. What the **** is the point of having a permanent useless account that will just take up space in your databases? For ******* sake.

My bill went up by over 600 dollars one month because of this. My son didn't even know we were being charged. I had to fight with Rogers , mastercard and the company that the apps belonged to

Rogers couldn't do anything, Mastercard couldn't do anything. Finally the company that got paid, re-imbursed me it since my son never even used the apps. the phone was just adding apps to his phone while he sat beside me with his phone in his pocket. So, yes, it should be none.

A couple of things you can do to create an AppleID:

a) Use a credit card close to expiration date. Once the account is created you can always go to your profile on iTunes and select None as payment method.

b) Use a gift card

c) Create a paypal acct without funds and use it. As said above you can always select none as payment method once the id is created.
