Have you looked at this guide -- iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes?
Has nothing to do with importing photos in an iPhone camera roll.
Sorry, I misread your question.iTunes does not allow you to copy most types of data (including photos) from the phone to your computer.
To import camera roll photos to your Mac, you need a program that will recognize the iPhone as a camera. Most photo programs will do that. If you're using a Mac and don't want to put the photos into a program, you can copy the images using the Image Capture program. If you're using iCloud, images from PhotoStream will automatically appear in iPhoto (and Aperture).
There are also other programs that allow you to view the content of the data on your phone, but you probably don't have to go to such extremes.
Hey I too had the same problem but I figured it out. When you plug in the Iphone open up Iphoto on your Mac
and then in the left hand column under devices you should see your Iphone. Click on this then you will see all the photos on your Iphone. Click on the photos you want to transfer and Voila there you go.
No need for any other progs Hope this helps🙂
Spot on! That's exactly what I needed. Tnx Paul!
Use iPhoto on the Mac to transfer photos from your iPhone camera roll into iPhoto on the Mac, as described above. It works since iPhoto treats your iPhone the same way it would treat a regular camera that is plugged into your Mac.
However, to go in the opposite direction - transferring photos from Mac iPhoto into your iPhone - you have to use iTunes (on the Mac) rather than iPhoto. That's because iTunes is responsible for syncing content (photos, music and other types) from your Mac to your iPhone.
If you open iPhoto when you're syncing your iPhone in itunes it should pop up as a device you can import photos from.
By the way, as far as I know photos are downsized when they're transferred to your iphone in the first place. so they will not have a very high resolution when you transfer them back form your phone.
There really is a way to help you to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac, which support iMac too.
I think a program called PhoneView for the Mac might help you with this. I saw it at the MacHeist site and I believe I could see all my photo folders, not just the camera roll one.
If you dont have iPhoto use Image Capture application on the Mac.
then transfer away. boyah done!
iPhoto is a great way to transfer photos if you have a Macbook. It's simple and quick to use, other than that you can try using apps such as 'Transfer Photo App' which is for both Windows and Mac users.
Perfect and simply worded. In about two sentences you answered my question exactly. KISS.
