how do i downgrade my ipod touch software
i want to downgrade the software on my ipod touch 2nd gen, ive downloaded the software but it mustnt be from the best place as it wont do it.
help!

There is NO legitimate way to do this.
It's 2nd gen and its the latest software , I'm trying to fix a problem. It keeps locking and the going to the screen that gives the swipe to switch off screen
I was hoping the downgrade would work
A downgrade which is NOT supported by Apple at all and is not a legitmate option, may cause worse issues.
I strongly reccommend against performing unsupported/illegitamate procedures.

Yes I've tried a reset restore many times and not made any difference. It worked fine before I upgraded

Download let's say iOS 4.1 just type in google download iOS 4.1 ipsw save it to desktop go into iTunes !!Back Up data!! Click Restore (plug in your iPod first) go to desktop click on it to open it restored? Put all data back on then ios 4.1 with all data.

Tried that but wouldn't let me, saved to zip and then wouldn't run :(
No SAVE TO DESKTOP!
If you want to downgrade you have to hold shift when you click restore then click on the software you have when the window pops up
If Restore Doesn't work at all then sticky lock button so get the iPod touch 4g it can't get a sticky lock button and it's got better graphics AND camara so get 4g!
If you don't have that type of money try my idea
I did save to desktop and still it was a zip file.
And I only want the **** thing to play cartoons for my daughter on! So much hastle!
